Two years later...

I can hardly believe I have not posted on my own blog in nearly two years, even though I have become a regular contributor to the blog for Episcopalians for Global Reconciliation.

This page was originally intended to document my travels in Europe and East Africa during my semester abroad, and I believe it served its purpose.  However, as I embark on new journeys in my life, I would like a central location in which to share these experiences.  I think right here will do just fine.

Since my last post, much has happened.  I returned to the Eastlands slums of Nairobi to conduct research and film a full-length documentary about Haba na Haba's incredible work.  This project became my senior honors thesis and I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in May of this year.  After being accepted to Teach for America to teach elementary school in New York City, I was offered a position as videographer for a new non-profit called Millennium Congregation (MC).  They exist to promote the amazing work of Millennium Villages, a development program pursuing all eight Millennium Development Goals at once.  After some deliberation, I decided to defer Teach for America and take a leap of faith with a position supported entirely by donors.  So, as soon as I have raised the money, I will be traveling to Rwanda to document their stories and promote their vision to congregations across North America.  For more information, see my homepage on MC's site here.

I am currently home in Norman, Oklahoma trying desperately to raise the remaining funds needed for me to leave.
